Benjamin Crabtree

Teaching is one of my spiritual gifts, and I have previously given studies ranging from expository biblical study to project management and engineering. My professional background is in engineering and physics, predominantly in the semiconductor industry. I have always had a passion for history, so while going to school for electrical engineering I also picked up anthropology/archaeology to study as a minor.

Many would see a technical background in science and engineering to be at odds with the high-view hermeneutics (literal text) that we stand on here at CCC, but in fact it is quite the opposite. My background serves not to cast doubt, but rather to strengthen my confidence in the inerrancy and perfection of scripture; “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.” [Ps.19:1]. My experience is that the study of science, physics and history serves only to amplify the content of The Word and bring glory to His Name.

I have found that careful and intentional study of the Word reveals little threads of truth not obvious with a casual glance. Chasing down these threads unravels illuminating discovery about our Lord, and creates an ever-stronger hunger for more knowledge and truth. “It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honor of kings is to search out a matter.” [Pro.25:2].

I hope you will let me share this passion with you in our studies together, and hopefully create an opportunity for you to develop your own hunger for studying the Word of God.
